Creative scripting - Just fill in the details in short notes
Purpose: The purpose of these Creative Exercises is that they give you more opportunity for individual work, and to express your understanding of radio drama, and radio production.
'SIGNPOSTING' AND 'HOOK'
SIGNPOSTING is establishing the location of the scene at the beginning (top) of the scene. Check out here Signposting - more - Signposting and establishing location- and here Signposting - further definition.
HOOK is the opening 30 seconds of the radio play. The audience have to be 'hooked', otherwise they could turn off. Check out more here - hook - opening 30 seconds.
YOUR INSTRUCTIONS:
You script the following
Fill in the WHO (characters and ages) - WHAT (plot situation, genre and acoustics) - WHERE (location)
Write short lines of script.
List FX (including SPOT).
Get genre and style.
Think of broadcasting slots from your listening to radio plays.
