 For the most part Internet radio is NOT radio - it's more like an audio-on-demand service. Eryl Price-Davies, Thames Valley University, 3 June 1999, in an e-mail to the UK radio-studies list.

Radio can be said to have certain characteristics, but the evidence suggests that radio is what history says it is: it has no essence since it has already taken, and continues to take, different forms.
