OBJECTIONS I HAVE HEARD OVER THE YEARS

OBJECTION 1 = ' BUT I DID NOT GET CAST IN THE AUDITIONS'
ANSWER: You and everyone else who has ever wanted to be an actor! You have to learn to deal with rejection - positively! And you have to take alternative action. Especially if you are a woman actor. You have to create other opportunities.

Get others on your side - there are lots of other wannabes out there. You do not have to be dependent on a student director - often male. Do alternatives - rehearsed readings (where you invite an audience to a reading with some movement). Do short lunchtimes. You DO NOT have to put on big staged plays.
All these 'performances' count! All these go on your CV. You gain the support of others and help each other.
